To determine which Player will be movin'on in the MONEY IN THE BANK bracket matchup, we'll use the Point Spread margin of the corresponding game in the same location on the real bracket.
Most know how Point Spread margin work already, but in case you don't, here's an example: a No.2 seed (Player A team) is favored to win a first round game against a No.15 seed (Player B) by 8.5 points. If the No.2 seed wins by 9 or more points, Player A with the No.2 seed advances to the next round. If the upset happens and No.15 seed wins the game outright, obviously Player B advances to the next round. However, if the No.2 seed wins the game by 8 points or less, Player B will advance forward in our bracket and will then take over the No.2 seeded team for the next round matchup. Make sense?
It's still one and done... lose your matchup (or lose by Point Spread) and you're out.
For consistency, to establish the Point Spreads for each game throughout the tournament, we'll use the easy to find official game odds posted on Yahoo/sportsbook at game time, which always seem to use the half-point increments to avoid any ties. The top of the Turbo Tourney bracket will be equal to the top left of this bracket. In the first round, the higher seeded team is listed on top for each match-up.
Like previous years, we'll still play this out for a $20 winner-takes-all consolation prize as a bonus chance to win for everyone that paid the entry fee early. However, unlike the previous method, you arent necessarily doomed just because you don't get a high seed.
We will see how it goes. Should be fun for a consolation prize.
Watch for an update to the bracket after the first day of games, but not in real-time like the main pool scoring will occur.
Thanks again for the early payment and best of luck in the real bracket!
